Founded in 2005 and headquartered in Aix-en-Provence (France), SuperSonic Imagine is a medical imaging specialist. The company has designed, developed and markets Aixplorer®, a next-generation ultrasound platform harnessing UltraFast™ technology at a data acquisition rate around 200 times faster than that of rival systems. Aixplorer® is the only ultrasound system able to image two types of waves: ultrasound waves to ensure impeccable quality; and shearwaves to measure and display in real time tissue elasticity using a reliable, replicable and non-invasive procedure. ShearWave™ Elastography helps to detect and characterise multiple conditions in numerous applications and in particular breast, thyroid, liver and prostate scans.
