3i Infrastructure plc (“3i Infrastructure”) has completed its investment in the renewable development and operating company Valorem.
3i Infrastructure has invested €57m today to acquire its 28.5% interest in the French business and to fund the company’s pipeline. 3i Infrastructure acquired its interest from FCPR Capenergie (a fund managed by Omnes Capital) and other minority shareholders. 3i Infrastructure has also committed to invest a further €12m over the next three years with a view to increase the company’s owned installed capacity. The transaction was announced on 14 July 2016.
Valorem was founded in 1994 and is based in Bègles. Valorem is an independent renewable energy operator which develops renewable energy projects for its own account and on behalf of third parties. Its services include technical assistance and development, engineering, construction and operation and maintenance. The company predominantly develops onshore wind farms, as well as photovoltaic systems in France and internationally.
