Omnes Capital and Infranity announce successful closing on a co-control stake in Power Capital, a leading Irish independent power producer
Infranity and Omnes Capital (“Omnes”) confirm the successful transaction closing of a strategic equity partnership with Power Capital Renewable Energy (“Power Capital”), the leading solar independent power producer in Ireland also focused on battery energy storage systems (BESS). Following the announcement earlier this year, all necessary regulatory, shareholder and other third-party approvals have been obtained.
The partnership is designed to accelerate Power Capital’s next phase of growth, further cemented in the recent continuation of its success in the auctions under the Renewable Electricity Support Scheme.
With a 230MW operational fleet of solar PV, 330MW under construction and an over 5GW pipeline of solar PV and BESS, Power Capital is the largest solar IPP in Ireland, leading the Irish urgent need to transition to cleaner alternatives. Additionally, Power Capital has established strong partnerships with major technology companies through Corporate Power Purchase Agreements (CPPAs).
““We are pleased by the successful closing of this partnership following the obtention of customary approvals. We look forward to contributing actively to the continued growth of Power Capital, including into BESS, helping to build a balanced portfolio across technologies. This strategic investment perfectly matches our funds’ mandates and represents another milestone for our latest equity fund”
“Over the past four years, we have partnered closely with the Power Capital team as they built Ireland’s largest solar IPP. Today’s successful closing marks a significant milestone in that journey. We are very pleased to welcome Infranity as a strategic partner and look forward to working together to support Power Capital’s continued growth. This partnership strengthens the company’s ability to scale its portfolio, deepen its route-to-market strategy, and accelerate delivery on its substantial pipeline at a pivotal moment for Ireland’s energy transition.”
