Artifakt raises 3.7 million euros to make the Web more efficient and agile

Launched in 2017, Artifakt’s mission is to make web applications agile and secure. Empowering developers, digital agencies and Enterprises alike to develop, manage, run and scale web applications especially in the e-commerce sector. This unique positioning of Artifakt as an all-in-one platform, meeting both the agility needs of developers and the security, scalability and reliability requirements of the infrastructures of companies has led to a 3.7M euros Series A funding. With this funding, the company will consolidate its leader board position in France and continue to expand throughout Europe as a complete PaaS solution.

A global need for DevOps solutions, reinforced by the Covid19 crisis

This new round, the third in 3 years, confirms the relevance and progress of Artifakt’s PaaS, which still make a difference in the market. Amidst the current pandemic, the start-up has accelerated its growth with 3X YoY turnover in revenue since its launch in 2017. Digital Transformation is booming now more than ever. The lockdowns have nudged companies to adopt a more collaborative solution and to deploy agile web applications without having to compromise on security or scalability. Artifakt contribution to this: Reduce time-to-market, zero downtime, increase performance, better conversion rates and SEO rankings. Ultimately, making websites 100% efficient.

Moving away from the crisis and its implications, Developers and enterprises have always faced digital challenges, thanks to the ever-existing web applications complexities. Delivering features faster, improving user experience, ensuring security and operational efficiency of the infrastructure (in the event of traffic spikes or attacks) has always been an uphill task for developers. Today, Artifakt is the only solution that is built to solve all these core elements: Application development (Dev), Continuous security assessment (Sec) and Infrastructure Administration (Ops).

These challenges being the same all over the world, the startup will be able to count on its financial partners, new and old, to succeed in this internationalization, as well as on its team of digital experts scheduled to triple by the end of the year.

An investment which confirms the exponential growth of Artifakt

With 3.7 million euros raised in a Series A, Artifakt welcomes in its capital several tech entrepreneurs and European business angels. Some are by its side since the beginning, like the American Plug & Play, a startup investor known for its support of the companies’ digitalization. And some other major investors are joining the adventure: Alliance Entreprendre, a French investment fund specialized in software and digital industries, Omnes, a recognized player in private equity and infrastructure; and the Swiss venture capital firm, Verve Ventures, a pan-European startup investor.

“The Covid 19 crisis was a real catalyst for e-commerce, highlighting the need to fully control your Cloud infrastructure. Artifakt provides exceptional answers to e-commerce and all businesses. Our funding will allow managers to accelerate an ambitious R&D roadmap and to develop internationally”, underlines Fabien Collangettes, Director of Investments at Omnes and one of Artifakt’s investors for this Series A round.

“Artifakt’s management team has a deep understanding of its client’s pain points as they have already worked with hundreds of them and have the skills to grow and develop in Europe”, says Xavier Mesnier , investment manager at Verve Ventures.

With this round, Artifakt will pursue 3 major objectives:

  • Establish its leadership position on the French PaaS market and continue to transform the daily work of hundreds of development teams with an innovative product adapting to the reality of their challenges and their need for autonomy.
  • Expand its presence on the European market
  • Consolidate its team by recruiting international web and cloud experts to reach its ambitious goals.

“We are proud to welcome Omnes, Alliance Entreprendre and Investiere into our capital. Their extensive experience in supporting innovative startups in international markets will help us pursue our strong growth beyond our historical scope. The DevOps methodology has been structured a lot since the creation of Artifakt but remains addressed in a siloed way with developers on one side and companies on the other. Our solution creates a bridge between these two worlds for the benefit of our users”, says Aymeric Aitamer, CEO of Artifakt.

Artifakt’s PaaS solution for developers and companies already has more than 30 domestic customers such as Bricorama, Lancaster and Pandacraft as well as international ones like Noukies (Belgium) and Thriftify (Ireland), who trust our product for testing and implementing their sites in the most efficient way possible, by prioritizing security, speed and availability, while allowing full monitoring of their web activities.
